Getting Started

When you first open SmartSip, complete the three-step onboarding: choose your user type, set your wake/sleep time, and select your habits (exercise and coffee/tea). SmartSip will generate a personalized daily reminder plan automatically.

User Types

Choose the type that best describes your lifestyle:

Logging Water Intake

On the Today tab, tap the quick-log buttons (Small, Medium, Large, Bottle) to record your intake instantly. You can also tap the + button in the Log tab to add a record manually with a custom amount, time, and scene.

Scene Reminders

SmartSip schedules reminders based on your daily scenes — morning wake-up, before meals, after coffee/tea, during exercise, late night, and before sleep. Each reminder includes a science tip explaining why hydrating at that moment benefits your body.

Completing or Skipping a Reminder

In the Plan tab or the Today tab timeline, tap the checkmark button to mark a scene completed, or swipe left and tap Skip. Skipped scenes can be restored by swiping left and tapping Restore.

Notifications

SmartSip schedules local notifications for each reminder in your daily plan. Go to Settings → and grant notification permission. Notifications fire at the scheduled time without any internet connection.

Apple Health

SmartSip can optionally read your sleep data from Apple Health to help schedule your reminders, and write your daily water intake to Apple Health. Tap "Re-authorize Health Data" in the Settings tab to grant or update permissions.

Home Screen Widget

Add the SmartSip widget from the iOS widget gallery (long-press your home screen → +). The widget shows today's intake progress and your next scheduled reminder.

Resetting Your Plan

To update your user type, schedule, or habits, go to Settings → Reset Onboarding. Your existing water records will not be deleted.

Daily Goal

Your default goal is 2000 ml per day. Adjust it in Settings → Daily Goal using the stepper. The goal changes in 100 ml increments between 1000–5000 ml.
